Our training programs starts as soon as the foals hit the ground. We halter break at four days old and start loading and unloading from the trailer at 5 days old. As soon as the foals are weaned, they are taught to stand, tie, to pick up their feet and to have good ground manners. All of our horses have these basic manners, and we will customize additional ground work, depending on your needs. We will acclimate the horse to blankets, shipping boots, and will even get them used to a trailer similar to the one you use...2 horse, 4 horse, ramp or step up, etc.
After working outdoors for so many years, we love the indoor arena and indoor stalls. The horses love it too! Our new facility gives us a lot of flexibility and a place to ride and train year round.
Our broke horses are started and trained under the direction of Don DeRoche. Don is a third generation horse trainer and though he has retired from the show ring, he continues to train our young horses at his Idaho Falls facility. Don showed on a national level in the 70's and 80's and had over 30 horses go from his barn to World or National titles, in a wide variety of events.
